For decades compressed air systems were always piped in black iron or copper. Black iron pipe systems are notorious for corroding internally, which compromises the compressed air quality and reduces system efficiency. Additionally, black iron systems are well-known for increasingly leaking at the threaded connections over the years. Copper pipe, while much cleaner than black iron pipe, is harder to install and is very hard to modify if you have to upgrade your system when your business grows.
In the past two decades Kaeser has worked with a design engineers to produce an aluminum piping system that is easy to install, corrosion-free, and has a low-pressure drop. On top of these qualities, it is simple to modify when air system expansion is required. SmartPipe+ is available in ¾“ to 2 ½”. SmartPipe XL is available in 3” to 8”.
The Air Compressor Works installation team has installed tens of thousands of feet of aluminum piping. We can provide a quote for a simple one-day installation or a piping installation for 100,000 square-foot plant.
